João Melo built his path on a strong connection to sport and physical education, areas in which he developed his academic training through a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Physical Education and School Sport. Over more than a decade of experience as a coach, he has been consolidating an approach based on rigour, curiosity and a constant search for progress.
Before arriving at CrossFit, it was in football and bodyboarding that he found his first forms of expression through movement. These initial experiences contributed to the development of his body awareness and his interest in physical performance. His contact with CrossFit came through friends, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his practice.
He stands out for excellence and perfectionism, especially with regard to the Olympic lifts, where he seeks precision, control and efficiency. This attention to detail is reflected in the way he guides training and supports each practitioner.
He describes himself as curious and open — characteristics that reflect his willingness to learn, explore new approaches and adapt to different contexts and people. Away from training, he finds in the sea a space of balance and connection.
His practice is guided by consistency, technical rigour and an attitude of continual discovery, accompanying each person in their individual development process.
